General Facts About Stress
In any situation stress arises as the result of the evaluation someone makes between:
- The demands they believe are placed upon them
- The ability they feel they have to cope with these demands
The amount of stress experienced ranges from person to person for example:
An event that may cause high stress for one person may have have little effect on another person.
The amount of stress that we experience influences both the way we feel and our ability to perform tasks.
This model below illustrates the processes which causes someone to develop stress.
