Ergonomization
Ergonomization is the process of designing and providing humans with tools to assist them in their tasks and lives. Thus, the use of tools, the improvement in displays, the application of ergonomics to tool and display design, etc, are all examples of ergonomization (see Wiki of Science, 20101).
In aviation, ergonomization is, thus, the application of ergonomic principles to work design and work processes, with the purpose of "fitting" it to the human operator. It also applies to the "fitting" of the operator to the work environment by way of training, etc.
Ergonomization is different from automation, insofar the purpose of automating is to eliminate the human need for operation.
