Synopsis
On 27th March 1977, two Boeing 747 aircraft collided on the runway of Los Rodeos Airport (now officially designated as Tenerife North Airport), in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). On a foggy day, KLM Flight 4805 took off without authorization from air traffic control while Pan Am Flight 1736 was still on the same runway.
This accident prompted the need for training pilots on crew resource management in the cockpit.
