Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907- Radio Silence

Synopsis

On September 26, 2006. A Boeing 737 – 8EH SFP scheduled passenger flight with 154 passengers on board from Manaus, Brazil to Rio de Janerio collided with a Business Jet over Brazilian states of Mato Grosso. All 154 passengers and flight crews were killed after the aircraft landed into a rainforest. On the other hand, the private jet with the 5 passengers with Captain and Co pilot landed safely at the Military runway inside the rainforest with no injuries at all.

The airspace in Brazil was controlled by the Military sector, and there were a numbers of complaints from the Air Traffic Controllers that they were overstress with overwork load and underpaid. The main reason of this mid air collision was due to Poor labor relations of Air Traffic Controller. Many of the ATC were not being able to speak in English; hence, there was a communication problem between them and the pilots.
